Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to CS Computer Solutions. So, we have developed a Privacy Policy that covers how we collect, use, disclose, transfer and store your data. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with our privacy practices and let us know if you have any questions.
Who we are
We are CS Computer Solutions. Our contact address is: 18A Hope Street, Crook, County Durham, DL15 9HS.
Collection and Use of Personal Data
Personal data is any data that can be used to identify an individual directly or indirectly.
You may be asked to provide your personal data anytime you are in contact with CS Computer Solutions. We do not share this personal data with anyone. You are not required to provide the personal data that we have requested, but, if you chose not to do so, in many cases we will not be able to provide you with our products or services or respond to any queries you may have.
What personal data we collect and how we use it
-
CS Computer Solutions will use personal data to fulfil your requests, provide the relevant product or service, loss prevention and for anti-fraud purposes.
-
When you contact us via phone, our website and visit our premises, we will ask you to provide us with your name, e-mail address and phone number. We need this information, so we can keep you updated on the status of your device when it is with us for repairs. For example, we may use your phone number to send a message or call you to let you know that your device is ready for collection.
-
We will also collect your residential or business address and postcode when you use our “home visit” services. We require these details from you, so we can provide you with our IT support services at your chosen venue. For example, at your home or your place of work.
Disclosure to Third Parties and Others
Personal data will not be used by us for advertising purposes; neither will it be shared with third parties.
It may be necessary – by law, legal process, litigation, and/or requests from public and governmental authorities within the United Kingdom – for us to disclose your personal data. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate.
Protection and Retention of Personal Data
CS Computer Solutions takes the security of your personal data very seriously. When your personal data is stored by us, we use computer systems with limited access housed in our premises using logical security measures, which include using the industry standard anti-virus, anti-malware and anti-spyware systems.
When you post on CS Computer Solutions’ social networking service, the personal information and content you share is visible to other users and can be read, collected, or used by them. You are responsible for the personal information you choose to share or submit in these instances. For example, if you list your name and e-mail address in a posting, that information is public. Please take care when using these features.
We will retain your personal data for the period of one year unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Access to Personal Data
We are able to provide you with access, including a copy of your personal data we hold for any purpose, including to request that we correct the data if it is inaccurate or delete the data if CS Computer Solutions is not required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes. We may decline to process requests that are frivolous/vexatious, jeopardise the privacy of others, are extremely impractical, or for which access is not otherwise required by law. Access, correction, or deletion requests can be made in person and via e-mail to charles@cscomputersolutions.co.uk .
Processing and Retention of Personal Data Stored on Storage Devices
-
We may process your personal data, including contacts, documents, pictures, music, audio and video files, when you request certain services. For example, when you ask us to provide you with data backup and restore services, and/or when we provide you with a particular service, such as starting afresh with a clean installation of an Operating System.
-
We have a legitimate interest to retain your personal data – data stored on your storage device – for the period of two weeks. For example, if you come back to us with a problem of missing data after we have repaired your device, we can restore it at a later date. You have a right to object to this. If you would prefer that your personal data was not retained by us, please let us know in person when you drop off your device to us. Your personal data will be securely erased from our computer systems permanently after two weeks of retention.

CS Computer Solutions may update its Privacy Policy from time to time. When we change the policy in a material way, a notice will be posted on our website along with the updated Privacy Policy.
